Food Allergy & Intolerances
Welcome to our new food allergy and intolerance pages. Our resident health expert, Liz Tucker has long been a big campaigner for better recognition, help and understanding for, in particular food intolerances which are often misunderstood, mainly because we still have so much to understand. As research, studies and information on the subject are constantly evolving we want to bring you news, views and information as we hear about it.
We are also featuring a Q&A section*, so write in if you want to ask our expert or need further information. We will be also featuring specific topics in more detail over the year so keep visiting us here at Be Happy Be Healthy to be kept up to date on this specific health issue.
*Unfortunately we are unable to answer any questions you have directly, but will endeavour to answer as many as possible within the following pages.
HOT OF THE PRESS
We will be announcing the formation of a new advisory group specifically for food intolerances. More news to follow in 2007.
NEW RESEARCH, STUDIES AND INFORMATION
Topics to look forward to in 2007
Weight Loss and Food Intolerance – this has been noted for many years by people following an exclusion diet but never considered scientifically, mainly because quite rightly research has been interested in more debilitating conditions such as IBS. With dramatic rises in obesity and its rise in medical status to a disease, the condition has been taken a bit more seriously. Now it seems there is some fact in the myth after a recent study was carried out in Austria. With a sample trial now taking place in this country and from the information compiled from the Austrian study, we will report the evidence found in the Spring.
Migraine and Food Intolerances – further details can be found within this section of the website
Rheumatoid Arthritis and Food Intolerance – 2006 saw a range of papers demonstrating a link between these two conditions. Will be bringing you details once we have waded through all the science stuff!
