We all love to experience pleasure and satisfaction and when we do we are rewarded with both physical and psychological feel good responses that greatly benefit our state of health and well being.

However, it seems we feel guilty about making time to achieve goals, to just have some fun and to help us and others cope with the difficulties and tedium that life throws at us.

Sometimes it feels like we are surrounded by doom and gloom and let's face it, we all love a good moan! When negative aspects become a dominant part of our lives it can be to the detriment of our health.

Magazines, newspapers and the TV are full of health experts telling us what we should be eating, how many times we need to go to the gym, how much me time we should be getting and how easy all that is to achieve. How many times have we given it a go and felt better but then life gets in the way and we fall back into our old unhealthy habits leaving us feeling fed up, de-motivated and less inclined to try again?

But why do we favour unhealthy choices?  Why do we end up trying time and time again to be healthier but then give up? One of the main reasons is because we perceive all these healthy things as being dull, boring and unsustainable because we set ourselves unrealistic targets that are not possible to maintain in the real world.  Lets face it, you probably have a shed load of that already so why introduce more while removing those little unhealthy habits that have become your main source of pleasure such as food, fags or the odd bottle of wine.

So have you forgotten how to enjoy yourself and to do things that bring you and others pleasure and satisfaction? 

Increasing activity levels, dietary changes, addressing stress, positive social interaction, giving up smoking or learning relaxation techniques are all positive changes you can make to improve your state of health and well being. Plus there is no reason why you also can't make it a pleasurable and satisfying experience. Adding fun to the equation is the best motivator ever and it speeds up the body's ability to recover and regain good health.

We want you to get back to having fun and making happiness a priority because lets face it, life is hard, stressful and bad things do happen, so lets put a bit of effort into making it worth living as well as benefiting others. Making healthier lifestyle choices does dramatically increase your chances of good health and happiness.
